Day 2 : In Hampi
We start the day with a visit to Virupaksha Temple, 15th-century Temple is located in the Hampi Bazaar area. It is one of the oldest monuments in the town. The top of the temple rises about 50 m from the ground, and the main shrine is dedicated to Virupaksha, a form of Lord Shiva. Later visit famous Hazara Rama Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama from the epic Ramayana. This temple is famous for its wall artistry which depicts the procession of Hindu festivals. Then comes Lotus Mahal, The Elephant Stables, Mahanavami Dibba, and Queens Bath. In evening, head out to the Vithala Temple, is the most artistically sophisticated Hindu temple in Hampi. It is dedicated to Vithala, a form of Lord Krishna. It has a Garuda shrine in the form of a stone chariot in the courtyard.
Day 3 : To the hippie island
Today, let us travel to a land which feels far away from what we visited yesterday. We take a coracle ride across the river and reach Hippie Island. Driving around the nearby villages from Hippie Island will take you to an ancient dreamland tucked between the giant boulders and coconut trees. Visit Anjaneya Hills, it is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. To reach the summit, you will need to climb around 575 steps (easily doable in 30 minutes). Be careful with mischievous monkeys jumping around (that’s why some people call it Monkey temple). It has so many amazing cafes to explore. Each one has a different vibe and something unique to offer. Read your favourite book at a café beside the river or play Uno with your buddies or maybe take an afternoon nap on the hammock. Hippie Island in Hampi is one of those magical places in the middle of nature, surrounded by a mountain of rocks, with momentary friends, with a landscape in front of you that will leave you speechless. It’s not unique, but it’s unquestionably magical.
